ABOUT
"Last Letter to Jayne" is the first single taken from the album SINTESI, debut solo of Alessandro Baris.
The song is the result of the collaboration with LEE RANALDO of Sonic Youth who says "Alessandro approached me about working together on a collaborative song. When I heard the sombre, majestic music, I thought that I could adapt the poem to fit, and also challenge myself to be experimental with my vocals in a way that was quite new for me – using overlapping voices and phrases to create an instability between the foreground and the background, a ‘three- dimensional’ evocation of an emotional state."
PRESS
"It's a haunting, ethereal song fueled by minimal electronics, gorgeous background harmonies, and Lee's spoken word and if you're a Lee Ranaldo/Sonic Youth fan, it should feel both refreshingly familiar and new and exciting" - Brooklyn Vegan
"Last Letter To Jayne, sang by Lee Ranaldo, is a prayer standing on few hanging chords played by a synthesizer .The vocal lines by the ex Sonic Youth change it constantly and makes you feel like floating on a sea of voices" - La Repubblica XL
"On top of Alessandro’s beautifully orchestrated composition of electronic synths lies a spoken word poem, written and performed by none other than Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth." - Far Out UK
"Eclectic e imaginative" - Sentireascoltare

LYRICS
Last Letter to Jayne, Last Letter to Breonna
Last Letter to Francesca, Last Letter to Genevieve
Last Letter to Isabel, Last Letter to Juliet
Last Letter to Catherine, Last Letter to Mikayla
Last Letter to Noemi, Last Letter to Naomi
Last Letter to Jayne, Is in the mail (again)
Last plane from the city’s / grounded
Last wilderness train
Is off the rails again
Last days together / squandered
Transport ceased
No word from yr lips
Last communication ends void
Last sound of your voice, Last gaze at yr glance
Last touch of your skin, Last try on yr pants
Lips Hair Knees Eyes, Lips Hair Knees Eyes

The phone’s gone dead And so has the sea
No thoughts in my head Of anything green
The phone’s gone dead And so have the trees
No warmth in my bed The sky washed clean
No voice, No eye
No hip, No thigh
No taste, No touch
No dream, No crutch
